1. The use of forests for geological exploration of mineral resources, for the development of mineral deposits is carried out in accordance with Article 21 of this Code.
2. For the performance of work on geological exploration of mineral resources, for the development of mineral deposits, forest plots that are in state or municipal ownership are leased, except as otherwise provided for in paragraph 3 of this article.
3. On the basis of permits of state authorities and local self-government within their powers determined in accordance with Articles 81 – 84 of this Code, it is allowed to perform geological studies of the subsoil on the lands of the forest fund without providing a forest plot, if such work does not entail carrying out felling of forest stands, construction of capital construction facilities.
3.1. In order to ensure the safety of citizens and create the necessary conditions for the operation of facilities related to geological exploration of mineral resources and development of mineral deposits, including in the protection zones of these facilities, forests are used for selective felling and clear-cutting of trees, shrubs, vines without the provision of forest land.
4. The procedure for using forests for geological exploration of mineral resources, for the development of mineral deposits is established by the authorized federal executive body.
